Collection: Masks

The human face, reimagined in clay. From intimate face studies to large-scale wall sculptures, each mask is shaped by Jacob Laoru's fascination with the anatomy of the face and its endlessly unique variations. Every orignal mask is sculpted by Jacob Laoru and a slip cast mould preserves the originality of the work. Each piece is individually formed, its edges from the cast softened and shaped with a brush and water. In the kiln heat and glaze decide the final and unique expression of the mask.
